Shirikisha Kilimanjaro is a small craft workshop established as an initiative to support disabled and disadvantaged women and their children. The women learn and make items from beads, local fabrics (batik, kitenge, and khanga) and recycled materials. They make handbags, shirts, tablemats, purses, wallets, aprons, skirts and many other beautiful souvenirs.
We believe in empowering and involving women in the development process. Most of these women do not have any other source of income or financial support apart from the proceeds that Shirikisha makes. Support by buying their products, telling other people about them or donating to contribute to the livelihoods of these women. We will also appreciate if anyone volunteers to share her or his skills with the group.
